Seby B “Chip” Jones Jr was born in Raleigh to Seby & Christina Jones. Seby was co-owner alongside of James Davidson together they owned Davidson & Jones Construction Company. One of the largest privately held construction companies on the East Coast. Chip was involved with the hotel industry, the construction company of his fathers and owning his own service company, SJA Service Company. After the hotel, construction and service company Chip moved to Wilmington and has lived here since 2006.
In 2009 Chip met Rose. During their courtship the two opened Journeymen Recovery Homes. This facility provides homes for men and women who need a place to stay while they work on themselves and strengthen their recovery programs from alcohol & drug abuse. Chip and Rose don’t just provide housing they also support other agencies as well. The New Hanover County Drug Treatment Court and Coastal Horizons – RESET Program.
In 2015 Chip and former partner Gary Anderson Vietnam Blue Water Veteran (deceased) formed American Honor Guards of North Carolina a 501c3 non-profit veteran service organization. AHG is supportive and an active participant of the Honor Flight of the Cape Fear Area, Southeast North Carolina Veterans Day Parade, Cape Fear Purple Heart Dinner and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 885
In 2024 Chip stepped up to be President of Seby B Jones Family Foundation by the Harrod & Jones Families, Inc. The Foundation is a 501c3 Charitable Foundation and is privately held by the families.
Chip and Rose support the Cape Fear Community College with Endowment Scholarships. We also support the Wilson Center which is a part of Cape Fear Community College. Another import venue is Thalian Hall. Thalian is one of three active theaters that date back to the 1800’s.
In mid 2026 Chip is proud to be an active member in the private school known as American Sign Language Academy of Cape Fear.
Chip’s activities include golf, fishing (onshore and offshore), motorcycling and standing an American Flag at active duty or veteran funeral. Assisting my wife Rose with her book sales around North Carolina.
